I am about to scream. You might remember the ordeal we started when requesting the Swiss Family Grimoire Book. You might also remember that we phailed badly the first (well, actually second) attempt – it’s a miracle we didn’t mess up anything so far, so no big complaints there. So, we had to beg Mei-Lin’s… Continue reading Penelope’s Quest For The Family Book: Phail #2

Penelope’s Quest For The Family Book: Phail #1
Oh this is so AYFKM, but it was basically our mistake. Mei-Lin’s relative in Taileng went through the ordeal of requesting Penelope’s birth certificate for the Swiss Family Book, and they sent everything to Taipei. I receive an email: Dear idiot, as it was clearly written on the letter you received, we do not need… Continue reading Penelope’s Quest For The Family Book: Phail #1
The Ritual and Serse’s Residence Permit
We went with Serse to the Ritual and everything went smoothly. There was a huge line of people waiting, but luckily infants have a preferential lane, so we waited maybe 5 minutes, took the picture and went home. Surprisingly, we didn’t have to wait long: after less than a week we got Serse’s C residence… Continue reading The Ritual and Serse’s Residence Permit
Serse’s Passport
We got Serse’s passport! We are FREE! Everything went smoothly at the Asylum, we had to go in person to authenticate Serse’s photo and Mei-Lin’s signature and they gave the passport outright. We can finally plan our vacation to Italy! And we can go to The Ritual with a light heart!
And Some Bad News…
We also just received the Swiss Family Booklet. Penelope is missing. AYFKM??? What the gigafuck? There is my and Mei-Lin’s names and parents, plus Serse’s. But NOT Penelope. WHY??? I call, and the news are grim. Remember that, prior to Serse’s birth we were not even eligible for the booklet? Well, the whole procedure was… Continue reading And Some Bad News…
Some Good News…
Today we received a letter from the Asylum. Serse’s passport is ready! We can go to pick it up starting from Monday next week (with Serse and Mei-Lin). Oh joy!
Serse’s Expense Tracking #3
Serse’s bureaucratic cost for our family is so updated: Registration to the Gemeinde: 35 CHF Swiss Family Booklet: 41.10 CHF Plus the previous 430 CHF we are now at about 506 CHF.
Swiss Family Booklet
In what I feel is an important further step toward the full “Swissification” of the Fantasia family, we have to request a “Swiss family booklet” (“Familienausweis”, formerly known as “Familienbuch”) from the City of Zerneve. This is an official document which attests the status/composition of your family, including partner, children etc. This has been requested… Continue reading Swiss Family Booklet
Tax Update
A quick update on the taxes thing. I called again last week, they confirmed that they have everything they need, apologized for the problem, told me that my 2019 taxes should be reimbursed in 3-4 months. It is not clear who was at fault here, if the tax office or my employer, and I will… Continue reading Tax Update
New! Mei-Lin’s Application For Italian Nationality
Today we are excited to announce a NEW SAGA of the AYFKM blog: Mei-Lin has officially started the process for obtaining Italian dual citizenship. With Serse’s story still halfway through, I hope this new addition will delight our dear readers even more! I will give you the details of how the application for Italian citizenship… Continue reading New! Mei-Lin’s Application For Italian Nationality
