Glossary

Since I started this blog I realized I introduced many “ad hoc” nicknames and overly specific terms, which makes it easier and funnier to write and to read posts, provided you are aware of all the necessary background. Given how long this blog has become, clearly I cannot assume this anymore from the occasional reader. For this reason, I decided to write this Glossary. Please look below for an explanation of weird or obscure terms and nicknames found throughout the blog.

Asylum: the Italian Consulate in Zerneve, Switzerland.

Gingerbread House: Taiwan’s Consulate Cultural and Economic Delegation Office in Bern, Switzerland.

MOFA: Ministry Of Foreign Affairs (usually referred to Taiwan’s).

Pesto Tower: Italian Consulate Economic, Trade and Cultural Promotion Office in Taipei, Taiwan.

Spelunca: a random city in Italy where the author of this blog comes from.

Taileng: a random city in Taiwan where my wife Mei-Lin comes from.

Zerneve: a random city in Switzerland where we live.
