Japanese Schroedinger’s Police Records

This is so AYFKM that I’m laughing so much.

With samurai punctuality, after two months exactly we have received the apostilled police records from Japan for Mei-Lin’s application for Italian nationality. Or at least I think so. It arrived as a recorded mail. Once opened, we saw there were two items inside:

• A smaller, sealed and stamped envelope from “NATIONAL POLICE AGENCY” addressed to “The Authorities Concerned Italy”.
• A printed note: “We send you the police report that you have applied for. Please be careful that the enclosed police report will be invalid once you open the envelope.“ This last part in bold is highlighted in yellow marker.

WTF Japan?

But we have to translate the fucking thing, so how do we do that?

I went AGAIN through the Asylum’s Telephonic Waterboarding System for clarifications, and they told me basically:

Uhhh… we have no idea. Please send us a scan of this envelope and the note.

OMFG AYFKM.

So I sent them a picture and they replied telling me that they just forwarded it to “one of their colleagues in Japan”, and they’ll let me know soon. Noice.
