You might remember the ordeal we started when requesting the Swiss Family Grimoire Book. You might also remember that we phailed badly the first (well, actually second) attempt – it’s a miracle we didn’t mess up anything so far, so no big complaints there. So, we had to beg Mei-Lin’s family again and we requested Penelope’s birth certificate from Taileng’s Household Registration Office, had it translated by a professional agency, legalized by District Court notary and MOFA, blessed it, and sent it to the Swiss Consulate Industries Office in Taipei.
Since I haven’t heard back anything from those people, I wrote an email a couple of days ago asking for news. They just replied.

Thank you for the new document but the Household Registration Transcript issued in English is still missing.
According to the letter from Kanton Zerneve, both Birth Certificate and Household Registration Transcript have to be submitted.
In addition, the original Birth Certificate in Chinese needs to be authenticated on its own as well.
Kindly let us know when the additional documents are on the way.

No! You must be JOKING.
FIRST: in the letter from Kanton Zerneve it was not mentioned that you needed the legalization of the birth certificate in Chinese, but only in English. The wording is actually a bit ambiguous (surprise!), but the LEGALIZED, PROFESSIONALLY ISSUED TRANSLATION should be enough to validate the authenticity, AND IN FACT you do not ask me the original Chinese version of the Household Registration Transcript, only the English one! I mean, there is only two options here: either 1) the fucking translation has some value to you, and then PLEASE do not ask us the Chinese version of the document, or 2) the fucking translation is useless, and then WHY are you content with just the English version of the Household Registration Transcript?
SECOND: you already have the Household Registration Transcript, both in Chinese and English, double, triple, quadruple-legalized, BECAUSE we have already sent it to you when we requested Serse’s birth certificate. I have kept a copy of it, I just checked, and there is also Penelope appearing there, correctly recorded as our daughter (because, remember, Penelope was born in Taiwan, so she’s already settled there, bureaucratically). This document is dated January 31st so it’s JUST a bit less than 6 months old.
Therefore I now exorcise you, Satan, by sending you and all your office colleagues a response email with a large “URGENT” tag on it, reminding you that you have the Household Registration Transcript already, making you notice that nobody requested me the legalization of the original Chinese birth certificate, and kindly asking you to not request new documents because it would be just a bit too fucking ridiculous.
