Oh this is so AYFKM, but it was basically our mistake. Mei-Lin’s relative in Taileng went through the ordeal of requesting Penelope’s birth certificate for the Swiss Family Book, and they sent everything to Taipei. I receive an email:
Dear idiot, as it was clearly written on the letter you received, we do not need the birth certificate from the hospital, but from the Household Registration Office. Please try again.
I guess that freakin’ book will have to wait.
